Everyone knows we humans have to drink fluids to stay alive. If we don’t we dehydrate. It’s common knowledge to be fair, it’s engraved into us from when we’re born, the need of drink has always been there.
Around 60-65% of the average human adult body is made of water. This is why we need to drink fluids on a regular basis. But we know all this stuff, we learn it when we’re kids at school. So how does it help weight loss?
Weight loss is the process of losing weight. Simple, just another thing we know. But it’s how we lose the weight. We know that exercise will help our muscles burn fat and food stores our body holds. We know that eating less calories will make our body use stored fat to keep going.
Do you know what HbA1c levels are? I imagine some people who read my ramblings do. For those who don’t, here’s a quick explanation for you;
HbA1c is what’s known as glycated haemoglobin. This is something that’s made when the glucose (sugar) in your body sticks to your red blood cells. Your body can’t use the sugar properly, so more of it sticks to your blood cells and builds up in your blood. Red blood cells are active for around 2-3 months, which is why the reading is taken quarterly.
Last week, you will have likely read about me nowt having a great week. A lot of the blame went towards it being my birthday at the time, but in the end life is for living for not dieting.
As long as I keep to plan in between occasions, I should see a good loss over the course of a month or a year. After all, turning 32 doesn’t mean I have to be fat forever.
This week was much better compared to last week. I kept tracking virtually all my food and kept to my points allowance the best I could. there were a couple of things here and there which weren’t tracked, so it wasn’t a 100% week, but it was a hell of a lot better.
Hi. Hello. It’s me, I’m still here. I know it’s been a while since I last posted – 25th March if I remember correctly, which is almost three weeks ago! Time certainly does fly past without you realising sometimes.
I’ve missed posting here. A lot has happened in the last couple of weeks too. Good stuff and not so good stuff.
First off, we’ll get the not so good stuff out the way; I became another year older. It was my birthday last week, which wasn’t brilliant for the weight-loss. I gained 8lbs last week through the birthday week, some meals out and just generally not sticking to plan led to this.
So yesterday, my dear wife left me in London to join the other 13 thousand or so people looking to complete the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Running something that wifey finds enjoyable, she entered along side my cousin – only my cousin didn’t get a place.
At around 09.40, I gave her kiss and wished her luck as she joined the huge queue to start her run. Initially we planned to see her at Miles 2, 5, 6, 7.5, 8, 9, 12 and the finish. They layout of the route meant that we got to see them 3 or 4 times at points without us having to move more than a few feet.
So tomorrow the London Landmarks Malfunction Marathon is being hosted for mad people to run around 13 miles. Why people would do this, I do not understand.
Running for me is not enjoyable. It might be if I was a lot lighter, so there wasn’t as much pressure on my knees, but there is a big reason I choose to cycle to lose weight, my bum and weight are supported.
But tomorrow I will be in London. Not to run the half marathon but to shout and cheer on my wife and mother-in-law. They’re the ones mad enough to complete this amazingly difficult challenge.
